Heavy rains provided much needed drought relief to the Methow Valley on Friday.
Okanogan County reports the Studhorse Fire did not increase in size overnight. Four outbuildings but no homes were lost. The Red Cross shelter at the Methow Valley Elementary School has been closed.

School Board Director Frank Kline announced his resignation effective Sept. 1 in a letter read by Superintendent Grant Storey during a regularly scheduled school board meeting on Thursday. Kline dialed into the meeting by telephone but did not make any additional comments.
